Is Coffee Healthy?
Is coffee healthy? This question is a very legitimate one, especially for coffee lovers. Like for alcohol, we can refer to many studies and we will likely find an answer. On the other hand, a lot of studies have contradictions in their conclusions.
Before looking at studies on health and coffee, we should consider a few aspects. In what psychological state is the coffee drinker? Are you drinking it alone, with people you enjoy or in a stressful environment?
Why should we consider those questions? Because the body doesn’t react the same way depending on the psychological state and environment that surround us. Here’s a short video about it.
Studies have shown that coffee could prevent diseases like type 2 diabetes, Parkinson and liver problems (Higdon et al,2006). However, coffee consumption could be linked to higher risks to develop cardiovascular problems like high blood pressure and high homocysteine level (Higdon et al, 2006).
